A bridge too far...

Pluvigner - St Brevin L'Ocean

Well after Tom telling us that we only had 66 miles to do it turned out that we actually did 86! A shock to the system to say the least.

The day started off well and we even went to the local bike shop. When we came out of the shop Tom walked across the car park with his front wheel in the air so that he would not ruin his average - something which had the rest of us in stiches. Paul the international man of mystery disapeared soon after the start just to live up to his nick name. Andy did us proud again by supplying us with loads of food after 35 miles, then it all went down hill...

We accidentally hit the motorway with lots of car horns to tell us we shouldn't be there. Then, just after we came off, we had to navigate the local one way system - the wrong way. To add a little spice to the afternoon Bill then took us on a small excursion of about 5 miles in the wrong direction. Needless to say we all had a little chuckle as we cycled all the way back again. Later on we had to cross the Nazaire Bridge with a severe cross-wind. The bridge looked very flimsy to say the least, is about 500 feet high and actually collapsed last year!

We were all very tired for the last few miles, though Tom and Gary did still manage a sprint finish.
