Hosted at Finn's Harbour Restaurant in Newquay this luxury buffet dinner and auction raised over £3,500 in sponsorship money.
Organiser Tom Hackman said "I was overwhelmed with the generosity of the guests. Meals with an actual value of £ 40 were selling for as much as £ 80...just incredible. Brian & Bradley Start, auctioneers with years of experience, managed to obtain the maximum for every item. Without their expertise and hilarious banter we woudn't have reached such a staggering amount. Ken Foulsham entertained us with his unique droll style. His audience were in hysterics !"
A buffet consisting of fresh crabclaws, fish, beautifully prepared beef, an abundance of salads, followed by calorie laden desserts was welcomed and appreciated by all, thanks to Luke, the head chef of Finns!
Items sold ranged from meals offered by local restauranteurs, t-shirts, trays of fruit, cheese, hair products, a beautifully framed photo and many many more.. even a full size surfboard.
Many thanks go to Finns for hosting the event, everyone who donated items for the auction, and of course all those who came along and made it such a success.
