Roscoff-Carhaix Plouguer
Tom finally landed after all the worry of organising the trip and successfully managed to get ten of us from England to France.
The ferry crossing was intermediate...which for Bill means rough and for Mike means smooth whilst Chris proclaimed that she was "nauseating" for the whole journey!
The cycling got off to a flying start, well, at least it did once we'd got Tom's helmet back from a drunk Englishman at the cafe where we stopped for breakfast. The morning was surprisingly nice and easy and was rounded off by a nice lunch break at Commana where they were having a local market. The greedier amongst us bought and managed to eat not only two whole chickens but two very large sacks of boiled potatoes. It was later on in the afternoon that the food intake seemed to kick in as Bill and Gary suddenly burst into action and let of steam by setting a pace that left the rest of us trailing far behind.
After a nice meal in the evening at an Italian restaurant (the only one we could book) we watched a local football match and celebrated as we thought our side won. A nice ending to a very nice day.
